The beautiful course of Hillerød Golf Klub lies only a few kilometers south of the town. The course itself is a mixture of open landscape and narrow fairways in a forest country and meadow. Sightseeing boat, M/F Frederiksborg, is sailing Denmark’s most stunning nautical miles on the lake of the castle. The boat links the town square with the Baroque Garden and the jetty near by the entrance to Frederiksborg Castle. The boat operates from 15th May to 15th September, Monday - Saturday 11 - 17, and Sunday 13 - 17.
Furthermore, the boat operates in the Danish schools’ autumn holiday. It is also possible to book the boat for special arrangements – please ask at the tourist office.
Bicycle rides
At the tourist office you can acquire a map “Bicycle rides in North Sealand”. The map is in a 1:100.000 scale. The marked bicycle routes follow existing paths, roads and forest roads. All routes are planned to be quiet and beautiful. The map also indicates primitive camps. All bicycle routes are marked with route signs. Besides the big map, small folders on shorter routes are available free of charge.
The routes go through fantastic nature, small towns, forest and beaches.
Swimming (Hillerød Baths)
The local swimming bath is next to the sports centre. In the bath you will find a large children’s pool with a depth of 90 cm and a swimming pool with a depth of 180 cm. Finally, there is a diving pool with three different diving board. There is also a large slide (53 meters long) and two smaller ones. You can stay both indoor and outdoor (when the weather permits). Outdoor you will find a nice green area for sun bathing and playing and a spot with tables, benches and a gas barbecue. Hillerød Baths is an ideal venue for children’s birthday parties.

Birkedal Gårdbutik is happy to show you the farm and the animals. All groups are welcome to make enquiries about visits – with or without activities. You can watch the animals, make small tasks, spin and felt. You are allowed to eat your own sandwiches at the patio.

At the "Falkonergården" falconers have taken up the old Danish tradition of training hawks for hunting. Visitors can see displays with falcons, hawks and eagles at a very close distance. The program starts punctually at the stated time with a short Danish lecture of the history of falconry. An attaction for the whole family.

Just a stone's throw from Hillerød, Gribskov forest sprawls along shores of Esrum Lake. Rent a canoe or Kayak from Sørup and explore some of the most beautiful nature that North Sealand has to offer. Kayak courses are held every week troughout the summer.
