Hillerød – where culture and nature meet

Hillerød is centrally located in the middle of the exciting North Sealand. The town offers numerous interesting possibilities and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful  and extensive woodlands .

Frederiksborg Castle is not only the landmark of Hillerød but an important frame for the life in town. This is where the inhabitants meet the tourists for exhibitions and concerts. The castle forms together with the lake, the little ferry and the Baroque Garden a beautiful oasis in the middle of the town.

Furthermore, you can experience the multi cultural festival “Music without borders” and a terrific and versatile jazz life.

Everywhere in Hillerød you will see beautiful sculptures, and in recent years many art galleries and arts- and craftsmen have found their way to Hillerød.

If you wish to exploit the nature, Hillerød can offer both golf and “put and take” fishing in a class of its own.  In addition here to, Hillerød borders up to “Gribskov” (Grib Forest), which is one of the largest and most characteristic forest areas in Denmark.

When spending your holiday in Hillerød you will experience a charming and informal market town. Within a short time you can visit Copenhagen and other remarkable sights. For example Louisiana, Kronborg Castle, Fredensborg Palace and Esrum Lake.  You will also find some of the best beaches within a driving distance from Hillerød.
